Danke für den sehr informativen Reisebericht. Der alte Präsident wurde abgewählt. Bin gespannt was das für Gambia bedeutet.

Bin gerade aus Gambia zurück,war 28 Tage im Lande.

Die letzten Tage vor der Wahl hat mann eine gewisse Anspannung im Lande gemerkt,
viel Mädels sind wegen der Election in ihre Heimatdörfer zurück gekehrt,hatten wohl Angst
das die Stimmung eskalieren könnte.
Es scheint aber alles friedlich abgelaufen sein,bis auf das Lahmlegen der Internet und Telefonverbindungen.

Im Moment sind sie in Gambia am feiern,aber wer weiß schon was der neue Präsident Adama Barrow wirklich bringt.
Hoffe einiges ändert sich zum positiven,erst einmal abwarten.

Das wuerde fuer uns das Risiko erheblich vermindern und The Gambia wieder als FunDestination oeffnen. Aber abwarten, da Barrow ja auch ein strenger Muslim ist.

Der Status hatte seit der Einführung durch Jammeh gar nichts geändert,bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten die einen Touristen nicht betrifft.
Das wurde vom Volke auch nie angenommen.

FunDestination ist es nach wie vor,aber ehrlich gesagt musste ich diesmal in meiner Langzeitstudie feststellen,das das Angebot
und Niveau der Mädels nicht mehr so hoch ist wie vor 4-5 Jahren.Es gibt dort wirklich Top Hasen,aber manchmal kam ich mir
Abends vor wie im Tal der Happy Hieppos

Barrow ist ein strenger Muslim,ich bin aber auch nicht davon überzeugt das sich das für uns zum positiven auswirkt,wir werden
es ja in nächster Zeit sehen.

Gestern waren alle noch ganz happy in Gambia,jetzt werden aber schon die ersten Stimmen gegen den President erhoben und
diverse Forderungen gestellt,ich befürchte das das Land mit einer gewissen Härte geführt werden muss.

1. Never, never use school children to welcome you at your meetings.

2. Please, kick AFRICELL out of the country and invite Congo-based Gambian multimillionaire telecommunications giant, Alieu Conteh to invest in the country.

3. Reduce the Nigerian banks in the country and encourage Gambians to invest in the banking sector.

4. Employ Bala Garba Jahumpa as your Vice President.

5. Reserve Jammeh's farmlands in Kanilai and other parts of the country for the back way boys. Italy and Germany will start deporting them soon.

6. Employ young speech writers to help you. That's what sensible presidents do. Here are a few names for you: Saikou Jammeh, Latir Carr, Lamin Njie, Jama Jack and Fatoumatta Ndure.

7. Divorce one of your wives. Polygamy is not for presidents!

8. Ban the use of vehicles without plate numbers

9. Please legalize prostitution!

10. Give Pa Nderry Mbaye a national award!

Gerade mit meiner Bekannte gesprochen,es scheint doch nicht alles ganz so ruhig ablaufen,
der Expresident will wohl nicht aufgeben,soll jetzt eine Ausgangssperre geben.

A curfew is about to be announced in The Gambia in coming hours amid reports of a planned coup to be staged by dictator Yahya Jammeh’s loyalists to undermine President elect Adama Barrow’s well earned electoral victory, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. General Saul Badjie, the De Facto Gambian President and Commander of the Republic Guards has notified the relevant units under his Command about the impending curfew. The curfew is going to be enforced tonight until tomorrow midday, according to our agent planted at the State House. Dictator Yahya Jammeh is behind the planned mutiny staged to disrupt the democratic process.

Yahya Jammeh’s concession speech to President elect Adama Barrow was a decoy to fool the alliance team. Jammeh has no plans of succumbing power anytime soon. He has no other alternative, but to concede for now. But plans are afoot to disrupt the verdict of The Gambian people through a palace coup.

On the night of the elections, Yahya Jammeh instructed a certain unit in the security forces to invade Radio Gambia and prevent the IEC Chairman Alieu Mamar Njai from announcing the results. This was when he (Jammeh) realized that the results were not in his favor. The order was never executed.

It was laughable to see Jammeh on a teleconferenced call pandering with President elect Barrow shortly after the results were announced. Jammeh is a false pretender. He still stand by his statement that a Mandinka President will never take charge of this country. He is working with General Badjie and co, to hijack Barrow’s victory.

On Friday, Jammeh’s posters were being vandalized in the streets of Banjul and the Kombos. General Badjie wanted to deploy security on the ground to confront the jubilant opposition supporters, but the order was reversed at the eleventh hour. Now, reports from the State House have it that a dawn to dusk curfew is about to be imposed.

We are living in a critical moment of our nation’s unprecedented political revolution. Jammeh’s enablers, and loyalists thought that they have been thrown under the bus by Jammeh. Jammeh’s failure to annul the results of the elections doesn’t go down well with them. Many of them have blood in their hands. They know that they cannot walk scot free in a post Jammeh administration. They will do anything under the sun to subvert the will of the people. Gambians should defend President Adama Barrow’s victory.

Meanwhile, in another development, four trucks filled with soldiers have left Kanilai, for Banjul. The Alliance and President elect Adama Barrow are at the risk of having their electoral victory hijacked. In coming hours, the Internet and international lines are likely to be disconnected by soldiers.

In another development, unimpeachable sources reaching us said the Alliance is likely going to be offered covert security protection by some Senegalese security agents now towards the inauguration day. Senegal should come to the alliance’s rescue before the up to no good uneducated solders seize power. There is an imminent threat on President elect Barrow’s elector victory. Ja, hab das gerade auch auf AlJazeera gesehen.

Diese Kerle aktzeptieren Demokratie nur wenns ihnen passt. Und der Islam hat sowieso nix mit Demokratie am Hut.

Also... besser doch leider erst mal Banjul von meiner 1st choice Liste fuer 2017 streichen und abwarten. Bei mir gehts dafuer im Maerz 2017 wieder nach Mada...6 Wochen...

(auch wenn gewisse "Calvinisten" meinen dass Mada das ueberhaupt gefaehrlichste Reiseziel ist)

Glaube Kenya ist weit gefährlicher, aber Mada holt in letzter Zeit auf, was man so hört... - speziell im Raum Diego sollen Jugendbanden rumballern und probieren Westler aus zu nehmen..

Ich hatte nach Zimbabwe eine lange Verspätung. Hat mir viele Nerven und einen Teil meines Urlaubs gekostet. Ich hab wie andere in diesem Forum dagegen geklagt und recht bekommen. Damit war wieder ein guter Teil drinnen und ich konnte mich im Nachhinein auch etwas beruhigen. Ich hab das damals aber nicht direkt gemacht sondern Experten die sich mit Fluggastrechten und vor allem Recht allgemein auskennen damit beauftragt
