It strikes me that very little is written about Golden Sands. I was there in the years 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Then I loved it. Then it was sparkling. In many restaurants and bars you had fun performances, such as dance shows, belly dancers, etc.
There was party street with disco Bonkers, next to it strip club Magura and on the other side Muppet bar. The whole party street was buzzing. In front of disco Bonkers many good looking
prostitutes walked there in the evening. The price was 100 leva.
I was also there this year, early September 2021. What a difference! There were only a few German-oriented discos left at the beach. And of course some restaurants and bars.
The entire party street had been shut down. Bonkers closed. Alone, lonely, the Muppet bar was still open, but pretty quiet. How is this all possible?
I could still see the overgrown places in the street where restaurants etc. used to be.
Nowhere the fun performances. Nowhere the prostitutes.
Now Corona has of course cut in. But I definitely got the impression that the downturn had been going on for some time. A real shame, because the place has enough potential.
There must be readers who have been there between say 2010 and 2020. I really want to know if that downturn has been going on for a long time or only during Corona. So:
- How was the party street in that period?
- Did you have those fun performances back then?
- What about the street prostitutes?
