DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO EXTEND VISA FOR SENIOR CITIZENS IN CASE OF OVER 50 YEARS OLD.
1. Application form TM7 duly completed ( fee 1,900 )
2. 4x6 cm photograph.
3. Passport and copy of ID page and current non - immigration visa. If you don`t have a current non - immigrant visa, you can convert your tourist visa at the imigration bureau on a special form.
4. Either a Letter from a Thai bank, not more than one week old, certifying a balance of at least 800.000 bath, together with a copy of your bank book showing the name page and transactions for the past three months. In first year of the retirement visa, the 800,000 bath must have been in the bank for at last two months prior to application but in subsequent years, the requirement is at least three months prior.
Or Letter from your embassy showing pension or other income in your home country of at least 65.000 bath equivalent on a monthly basis.
Or a combination of both above that is income of less than 65.000 bath equivalent monthly with acomplementary vash sum in the Thai bank. The total from both sources combined must be at least 800.000 bath. You will need a letter from both your bank and your embassy. Fund book not allowed.
5. A document showing your local Thai adress an official rent book or a letter headed receipt of rent paid, company papers or proof of ownership of a condominium or residence. The immigration officer will keep a photocopy of the document.
6. In case of a married couple applying for retirement visas a certified of the marriage certificate in english or thai must be present as part of the paperwork.
7. If a joint bank account is shown as part of the application process a cereified copy of the marriage certificate in english or thai is required.
8. the application fee for a retirement visa is 1.900 bath. If needed, conversion from tourist visa to non immigration status is extra 2.000 bath.
