Und hier mal wieder ein Update zur Situation in Pattaya:

New checkpoints and restriction areas likely ready on Tuesday, will be located in Central Pattaya

"The Pattaya News" - By Adam Judd - Friday, 10 April 2020, 17:10

New checkpoints and restricted zones are being finalized in Pattaya after yesterday’s first day of city wide closures caused a lot of traffic issues and local resident complaints.

The Pattaya City Mayor Sonthaya Khunpluem told The Pattaya News this afternoon, “The Pattaya lockdown cannot be cancelled but we have planned to change some areas and check points.”

“All barriers which are blocking roads in the East, also known as the Darkside locally, and by the railroad will be or have been removed.” He added.

“Roads along the railway and Sukhumwit Road will be fully opened once these are all removed and shall stay so. Checkpoints will be set before the entrance to the inner Pattaya area or as we are referring to it, the ‘Red Zone’. ”

“Those checkpoints will likely be at Dolphin roundabout, the entrance to North Pattaya (Parinya Intersection), Central Pattaya (Arunothai Intersection), South Pattaya (Kopai Intersection) and Jomtien (Jomtien Second Road). A map will be provided prior to them becoming official.”

“It is expected that these checkpoints will be ready on Tuesday, April 14.” The Mayor said.

The reason for the restriction of Central Pattaya is that the majority of confirmed Covid19 cases have come from that area in Banglamung. Of those cases, most are imported cases of foreigners who recently arrived or traveled to the area. Of the Thai cases infected in the area nearly all came from a foreigner who was a recent arrival, City Hall stated.

Once the closure is resumed it is expected that random medical testing of the estimated 2,800 foreign tourists still living in the Central Pattaya area will take place, along with other high risk groups such as close contacts of confirmed cases and domestic Thai visitors who have recently arrived. This process will take about three weeks, the city estimates.

Pattaya is currently testing about 200 high risk people under investigation a day at the Grand Bella Hotel in Pattaya which is being used as a field hospital.

Dear Sir,

I´m very happy, that The Pattaya News write so much serious and honest articles about the Corona-situation in Pattaya. They are always very competent about the actual situation.

Is it okay, when I copy and past some of these informations in a Blog about "My Life in Thailand" in social media foren?

For example like that:

" Chonburi Governor bans all alcohol sales, drinking outside, transportation of alcohol until April 30

"The Pattaya News" by Adam Judd - Saturday, 11 April 2020, 21:47

The Chonburi Governor has released an order tonight stating that all alcohol sales are banned until April 30th in Chonburi province, which includes Pattaya.

The order also includes drinking outside which is firmly against the law in any outside locations.

Additionally, it also bans supply shops and transportation of alcohol in the province during the dates to avoid smaller shops or individuals attempting to sell out of normal license procedures.

This is designed to encourage social distancing and stop people from gathering for Songkran or in public areas.

Being caught breaking these rules, including having a drink outside, can result in fines of up to 100,000 baht and up to 1 year in jail under the emergency decree in place to stop Covid19. The order is effective immediately. "

I hope, i can do like that, because in all your articles there are very useful informations about the daily life in Pattaya and Chonburi.

Sincelery Yours

Und deshalb hier mal wieder ein Update zur aktuellen Situation und den Regelungen in Pattaya....

....und wie immer im englischen Originaltext aus den "The Pattaya News":

Pattaya City Checkpoints and closure to start Wednesday, not Tuesday, in the afternoon

"The Pattaya News" - by Adam Judd - Monday, 13 April 2020, 18:39

Pattaya City announced this afternoon that the new closure restriction checkpoints will start on Wednesday, April 15th in a trial period.

15:00-18:00 Wednesday 15th will be the trial lockdown.

From 14:00 Thursday 16th the full lockdown begins.

The Pattaya City Mayor Sonthaya Khunpluem told The Pattaya News late this afternoon “The new closure zones will have eight checkpoints on roads for both Chonburi inbound and Sattahip inbound.”

“People who do not have ID cards in Banglamung but have to enter Pattaya for work will have to fill out documents.”

“Documents will be available at 140 branches of 7-Eleven in Pattaya and can be picked up now.”

“All eight checkpoints will be on Sukhumvit Road.” A map, possibly subject to change but currently final, is below.

“By getting documents together now, this will help to decrease traffic jams when the closures start.” The Mayor concluded.

As for foreigners, they must have their original passport and proof of residence. This can be the housing certificate, a driver’s license with their address or even bills in their name at a residence. Entering Pattaya City will only be for essential reasons and must also need proof, such as a doctor’s appointment or Immigration appointment. If a foreigner is working they must have their work permit and the proper paperwork which they can also get from what we posted above or 7-11, same as a Thai National.
