Effective from 5 March 2020, the United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Health and Prevention
has urged ""(gedraengt) UAE citizens and residents to avoid travelling abroad **(darunter auch TH) due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus in multiple countries.
The Ministry stated that those who travel may face preventative measures upon their return to the UAE, at the discretion of competent authorities, including undergoing medical checks at the airport and a 14-day home quarantine.
Those who test positive will be transferred to a designated health facility for treatment and quarantine to ensure their safety and to avoid contact with others.
THAILAND
Effective from 25 February 2020, until further notice, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation
has banned **(verboten) travel to Thailand by UAE nationals.
Etihad Airways flights between Abu Dhabi and the Thai destinations of Bangkok and Phuket continue to operate, but all passengers travelling on these flights will be subject to temperature screening prior to landing in Abu Dhabi, and additional screening on arrival.
For any passengers or intending passengers whose travel plans have been affected by this travel restriction, cancellation and rebooking policies are listed below.
Under a prior directive of the Government of the UAE, nationals of the UAE are not permitted to travel to Qatar, Thailand or Iran.
Nationals of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia are no longer permitted to use national ID cards to enter the UAE. They must now use passports.
Nationals of the UAE may use a national ID card to return to the country if they departed prior to 28 February 2020.
